  • Digital & App Innovation to help clients modernize existing applications and build cloud-native apps.

What you do: 

  • As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team you will provide strategic financial and governance insights and advice to support the business’s financial health.
  • Our Finance Manager is responsible for managing all financial activities, including bookkeeping, management reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. You will ensure that the company’s financial records are accurate, compliant with regulatory requirements.

Reporting line: CEO, COO

You will be in mainly charge of:

1/ Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all aspects of the financial management process including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize Xero and Dynamics 365 Project Operations to ensure the integrity of financial data and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns and other financial statements.
  • Coordinate annual insurance program.

2/ Accounts Payable Management

  • Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
  • Implement and manage approval workflows to ensure proper authorisation of expenditures.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements for payment processes.

3/ Accounts Receivable Management

  • Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring invoices are issued promptly and accurately.
  • Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely collections of outstanding invoices.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing disputes.
  • Prepare reports on aged receivables and provide insights on improving cash collection.

4/ Payroll Processing

  • Processing the monthly payroll in Xero and uploading the bank files.

5/ Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain robust budgeting processes, providing detailed forecasting to support the company’s financial planning.
  • Lead the development and monitoring of budgets, providing variance analysis and reporting to senior management.
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide insights on budget performance and cost management.

6/ Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and investment.
  • Analyze working capital and implement improvements to optimize cash management.
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables and management of payables to maintain a healthy cash flow.

Other responsibilities may need your support:

7/ Project Financial Oversight

  • Use Dynamics 365 Project Operations to track project finances, including invoicing, revenue recognition, and project profitability.
  • Ensure project budgets are set up correctly, monitor expenditures, and report variances against the project budget.

8/ Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure robust internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage audits, both internal and external, and liaise with auditors to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

9/ Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead the Finance team, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment within the finance team and across other departments to enhance the financial health of the company.

10/ Systems Management

  • Ensure effective use of Xero and Dynamics 365 Project Operations, regularly reviewing the systems for improvements.
  • Work with IT and other departments to implement any necessary system upgrades or process improvements related to finance and project operations.

11/ HR

  • Employee contractual requirements.
  • Bonus calculations and payments.

Who are we looking for:

  • Expertise in accounting and financial reporting using Xero and other financial management systems.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, Payroll, Superannuation, State-based taxes (Payroll Tax & Workers Compensation) and reporting functions.
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management or controlling, preferably within the professional services industry.
  • Desirable to have Dynamics 365 Project Operations or similar Professional Services Automation tool experience.

Work Location: 

  • Work from home. You may be required to travel sometimes in a year for work purposes.
