Job Summary: The Commercial Director will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to drive sales, enhance profitability, and solidify our position as a premier frozen finger foods manufacturer in international markets. The role requires a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of the food manufacturing industry, sales strategy formulation, and effective team management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy Development:
  • Collaborate with the executive team to define sales objectives, growth targets, and market expansion plans.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with our business goals and market dynamics.
  1. Sales Planning and Execution:
  • Lead the creation of detailed sales plans and budgets, outlining tactics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team.
  • Drive the sales team to achieve and exceed targets through effective guidance, training, and motivation.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze variances, and take corrective actions to ensure plan adherence.
  1. Market Development and Expansion:
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and potential partnerships to drive revenue growth.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including supermarket chains, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure business deals and partnerships.
  1. Profitability Enhancement:
  • Analyze pricing structures, costs, and margins to optimize product profitability without compromising quality.
  • Implement pricing strategies that reflect market demand and competitive positioning.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team capable of delivering exceptional results.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales department.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members.
  1. Sales Reporting and Analysis:
  • Establish a robust reporting framework to track sales performance, market share, and other relevant metrics.
  • Generate insightful reports and presentations for the executive team, highlighting key trends and recommendations.
  1. Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with production, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment in product offerings and promotional strategies.
  • Contribute to new product development initiatives based on market insights and consumer preferences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven track record of at least 8-10 years in sales leadership roles within the food manufacturing industry, with experience in international markets.
  • Strong understanding of private label manufacturing and global retail dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from data and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Previous experience in managing and developing sales teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
